Character Log: Penn Nolen (#2)

Well, it's been a while since my last data entry. Last I updated, a couple of tin heads had captured a droid -- poor thing was just a head! I stepped in of course and saved the little guy, nothing but a BB head unit. I've acquired quite a few droid friends on this rock (mostly from rescue missions from the Order) but...this one was different. While most droids mumble and trip over their gratitude, BB-142 speaks very properly, as if he's been around for lightyears. Which, I'm convinced he has. It took a while for him to open up to me but an even shorter amount of time to trust me so it wasn't long before he told me he used to have a master, someone with the Resistance I think. I assume. He doesn't seem to have a plan, he's only asked that he stay with me. I'm fine by it, it's not like he'll be a nuisance, poor thing can't even walk. 

So, it's been BB-142 and I ever since. That was...a few weeks ago, I think. That was actually the same day I landed a job at Dok Ondar's. He seemed to think I was coming in to pawn off BB and backtracked when I asked about a job. I mainly do maintenance work, fixing and tidying. It's mindless work, I don't mind doing it. Shifts are long, I guess because he needs someone to man the shop when he steps out. He steps out a lot. I think he handles shifty backhanded dealings with smugglers but that's just a guess. 

I saw a broken saber hilt behind the display case yesterday and...I think that was an omen. As BB and I left Ondar's, I saw a bucket head with a saber hilt to his belt. I try not to steal too frequently but come on, it was a lightsaber. Broken or not, it belonged anywhere but with the Order. I played him up real good, said I was lost and needed directions. He wasn't expecting it of course so when he turned his back I grabbed it and took off, swift as the wind. Though now I'm hiding out in the apartment, just for good measure.

But on the way home, I found two transmitters -- one from Ondar's and one left on a speeder behind Savi's. I was already on a roll with the thievery so I thought, why not? One is really fancy, like, royalty fancy, silver gilding and all. The other's pretty swanky too but made out of jet black zinc-plated carbon steel. I'm gonna test them out and see if they work. Who knows? Maybe this could be my ticket out of here. Somehow..
